Monday’s Cartoon and Consumption

Will the global recession mean less consumption, or will we be in denial?

Will the global recession mean less consumption, or will we be in denial?

I’ve been trying to survive on spending $150 AUS per week, after bills. This includes food shopping and entertainment, so it limits what I spend on needless fripperies (I need food and to socialise!). I get a lot of my stuff from op shops (second hand charity stores: a win-win-win situation, as you get stuff cheaper than new, different from what most other people have, at less cost to the planet and with the added gain of helping out a charity), including a hat I am assembling for Cup Week and Oaks Day at the races. If it works out okay, I’ll put a photo up here.
